kubben > Chilly dog. (12-23-08) Brier would much rather be a hot dog, than a chilly dog. She is miserable out there in the bitter cold. It's just too much for her. And housebreaking has taking a few steps backwards since she doesn't want to go out there. The good news is that it has finally warmed up, and we're starting today at 20F. A heat wave. There is actually about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground, but it is so hard and crusty that the dogs can walk on top of it. It is not nice snow.
kubben > Stretch,2,3,4... (2-9-09) Even though you might not like it, stretching out is an important part of the morning workout. And I don't know anything about that :p.
kubben > Tiny Tim (5-26-09) A friend of mine has a litter of shelter puppies, and their mom, at her house. They are 10 days old. This little guy is the tiniest one of the litter. He is easily half the size of the biggest puppy. I hope there is nothing wrong with him. He is adorable. Here is a shot of the whole litter, all 6 of them.. They will be up for adoption in about 8 weeks if anybody wants one :).
kubben > Wounded. (1-22-09) This little bear was found in the back yard with a severe wound to his neck. A witness described the suspects as black and white, small, and hairy. Thanks to this security photo of the crime in progress, the two suspects were apprehended and are now in custody. I intended to get out to take some photos of something more interesting than this today. I took the day off work so I could spend two hours at the dentist, and then I ran some errands, washed the car, fixed up my washer with some duct tape, played with the dogs in the sloppy back yard, and then the sun was going down and I never made it anywhere. But it was a nice day, and I got a lot done. Edit: Don't worry about any children having lost their teddy bears. This is actually one of my dogs' toys, and this is how they generally end up. Once they get a hole in it, then they start pulling the stuffing out, and the poor stuffed toys are history after that. At least this one still has the head attached...for now.
kubben > Swimming with Sting Rays. (12-31-08) Today we swam with the sting rays at Grand Cayman. And my brother and nephew did finally join up with us. Happy New Year everyone!!!!

kubben > Pistol Pete (12-26-08) I went over to a friend's yesterday afternoon, the same friend who was fostering Brier, and now she has a new one. This little guy is just cute as can be, but he has some aggression issues, which is not good for a 7 week old puppy. The people at his first foster home were afraid of him, so now my friend has him. Hopefully, he can get over his little problems so he can be adopted. I think he could probably be turned into a decent dog if the right person can be found. He does need some work. And no, I'm not taking him. I'm at my limit, and besides, he's the wrong color ;).
kubben > Mother and baby. (8-3-08) You can tell they're related, they have the same hair. Saturday was photo club at the zoo, so I spent the morning there. And I'm posting a shot from yesterday, because it was just too darn hot to leave the house this afternoon. I got the yard mowed this morning while it was still only moderately miserable outside, but since noon it's been totally miserable. It feels like a furnace blast every time I open the back door to let the dogs out. So I'm staying inside until the temp drops back below 100.
kubben > Not an ugly duckling. (5-27-09) This is one of four baby swans that are downtown at the Gene Leahy Mall (lagoon). I remembered to take some stale bread with me when I went down there, and much to my delight, the adults and babies came over right next to the bank to have some. The babies were very cute. Here is a shot of mom and babies.

I went over to a friend's yesterday afternoon, the same friend who was fostering Brier, and now she has a new one. This little guy is just cute as can be, but he has some aggression issues, which is not good for a 7 week old puppy. The people at his first foster home were afraid of him, so now my friend has him. Hopefully, he can get over his little problems so he can be adopted.

I think he could probably be turned into a decent dog if the right person can be found. He does need some work. And no, I'm not taking him. I'm at my limit, and besides, he's the wrong color ;).
