kubben > Happy Easter
(4-8-07)

I found the bird that lays the easter eggs ;).
It's a Lilac-breasted Roller.

I'm so excited...I got a water drop reflection. I watered these flowers tonight, and then decided to take a few shots since I didn't have a potd yet. And to my amazement, I saw some reflections.

This certainly isn't as good as I've seen from other people, but it's my first!! So of course I had to post one of the shots I got. I might have to play around with this indoors out of the wind some day.

This is a first for me. My first wild owl. When I saw this bird, it was flying off in the distance with a smaller bird harassing it. I thought it might be a Red Tailed Hawk. I made my way over to where it had landed in a tree, and as I got closer, I realized it was a big owl. I'm pretty sure it's a Great Horned Owl.
kubben > "Mrrreeooowwww. I may be only 5 weeks old and not have any teeth yet, but someday I'll be a big mean Malayan Tiger."
(9-6-07)

I ran over to the zoo tonight to see how the baby tigers were doing. They are way too cute. More pictures here.

Today was Photo Club at the zoo. Remember the little Malayan Tiger cub from last year. Well, he was a year old on Thursday, and this is what he looks like now.
kubben > A frosty morning.
(12-22-08)

It's only -7F this morning, not as cold as they thought it might get, and the wind isn't blowing, so it doesn't feel too bad, as long as you don't stay out long. This is frost on my window. The patterns fascinate me.

(12-12-08)

A friend and I went downtown last night to take pictures of the Christmas lights, and we ended at the pedestrian bridge. It was getting colder, windier and drizzly by the time we got there, so the evening ended there. I haven't had time yet to really go through all my pics, but I did like this one.

Went to the zoo this morning. I find these gorillas to be the most fascinating creatures. And the exhibit allows you to be right there next to them. Only a 6 inch thick piece of glass separates the public from this guy,and his buddy. And this one is always right there by the glass. He seems to enjoy watching the people as much as they enjoy watching him. It is something to stand there eye to eye with with this huge, and beautiful gorilla.

He was just lounging by the glass watching all of the kids when I took this shot.
kubben > Forest, River, and Brier.
(9-30-08)

This is about the only way I could get a shot of all three of them, all in the same shot. Unfortunately, the focus isn't great on all of them, but I was doing good just getting them all together.

Brier had to have a bath tonight. She really needs to learn not to walk underneath Forest when he's peeing.
